"You do a brilliant job on Doddington Diary every time. This one is very special with grandad's poem in it, thank you for publishing it after over 50 years since he wrote it.  (June 2023)

"Our team have just read through the latest edition of the Doddington Diary, and we would like to pass on our congratulations for an excellent issue. It was a great opportunity to learn about recent updates within the community."  (February 2023)

"We moved here almost four years ago, and one of the first things through our mail box was the Doddington Diary.  I can not tell you how much your magazine helped us, both then and now.  As someone new to the area, it was full of all sorts of useful information, both the articles and the ads.  We learned about area groups, when they met and how to join.  We were able to use the advertisements to support local businesses, which is important to us.  You kept us updated on events we would not have otherwise have know about.   The entries on the history of the town made us feel closer to the village we call home.

I still get a little thrill when I see the Diary in the mailbox.  I love keeping informed about the town’s doings, which was especially important during the lockdowns.  I believe your publication was essential in keeping residents connected during that time and updated on the changes we all had to make.

I can’t thank you enough for everything you do!  I know that sometimes volunteering seems like a thankless job but I am not alone in being extremely grateful for the hard work put into producing and delivering the Doddington Diary.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!"   (May 2022)

I really like the lay out of Doddington Diary and I really enjoy like so many others in Doddington, the information and its contents, well done you. (February 2022)

I was very impressed with your Doddington Diary.  Our village has a similar magazine, but is a bit more Church based, and I think yours is a bit more diverse - well done.  (June 2021)

What a great contribution from Ken Robson (Online Security, May 2021).  A lot of people wouldn’t realise that about passwords.  I also liked the rare 1960’s picture (toilet block area).  It would be interesting if there are any more in the museum archives? (May 2021)

Thank you so much for all the hard work that you are putting in to compiling the Diary as I know it will take a lot of your time and energy but it is great reading about what other groups are doing and keeping up to date with everything.  (January 2021)

I  have just read your latest edition of the Doddington diary.   I feel it would be a great shame if the hard copy was no longer delivered . I personally have never read any magazine or periodical on line, I much prefer the copy in my hand ,not in Digital format .  Please think carefully before making a final decision.

Regards and thanks for an interesting diary.   (August 2020)

I would just like to say I love history and the Doddington Diary is full of that. It’s sad to say we lost our magazine but being able to read yours is great. Well done to all the people who play their part in putting it together for the village and ones around.   (August 2020)

Well done, packed with lots of interesting topics.” (July 2020)

“I found the article on the village sports very interesting, having been born in the village in the early 50's. In fact my brother was mentioned in the article as "Bryan" Elms, correct spelling is "Brian". When he won the trophy in 1958 the sports were held on the Pound Field - now referred to as the cow field apparently - in the centre of the village at the top of Ingles Lane. Neither of us can remember the previous years sports but Dr Yardy’s' paddock was on Church Lane opposite the farm house where, I believe, Dr Yardy lives now.

I found your articles on the wartime history very interesting, particularly the mention of the landlord of The George celebrating a wedding anniversary as he was my Great Grandfather!

There are now very few 'original' residents from my childhood, indeed I live in Chatteris and my brother at Werrington, P'boro, but there are a few older than me still there. All our memories fade and the earliest sports I recall were held on the School Field, but Brian is confident that his trophy was won in the Pound Field.

Finally, thanks for all the research you have done, it has been of huge interest to me.” (July 2020)
